SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah - Students were in South Salt Lake on Thursday to help renovate the Giving Back Food Pantry.

Salt Lake Community College students are helping to repair the pantry and make it handicap accessible as part of their Keep On Giving Back project.

Last month, the pantry fed about 2,000 people a month, but when it was broken into and in need of repair, Pastor Tee Evans closed the pantry until it could be repaired.

"It's the most unique pantry in the whole state of Utah. I want them to know there's something here not only food but counsel if they need it . If they need a hug we'll give them that. We're family. I'm sincere about that," Evans said.

Companies like RC Willey and Porter Paint have come together to donate supplies.
